These are the Paintings of Ganesh. Ganesh is Predominant God in the mainstreams of Hindu religion and civilization. Worshiping a Ganesh is a part of Hindu’s daily life. Hindu’s worship Ganesh as a good luck and I believe likewise, so I am staring my great career with solo Ganesh exhibition which was held at UTA student art gallery on October 3, 2003 with different types of abstract Ganesh paintings. I displayed 20 paintings of Ganesh in different mediums. I used acrylic and oil medium on these paintings. I started these paintings with a stroke of brush and ended up with a palate knife, which are now my favorite tools and techniques.
As a Hindu I was fascinated with Ganesh since my childhood and that really inspired me to choose Ganesh as an object for my first solo exhibition. I also choose Ganesh so that I can express myself in different aspects of color, texture, line and geometric shapes. I am used seeing Ganesh having a body of human and a head of an elephant. I decided to be a little more creative and represent him vividly in color, outline and different texture.
The works on these paintings gives an alternative representation of Ganesh, and inspire me to continue this technique in my future paintings.
